City Surgery Center, the on-site surgical facility at Kirby Plastic Surgery, renewed its accreditation from Quad A, the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, for the fifth consecutive year. The reaccreditation confirms that the facility continues to meet the highest national standards for patient safety and surgical care quality.
Dr. Emily Kirby, board-certified plastic surgeon and founder of Kirby Plastic Surgery, said the renewal reflects her ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards. “I have always believed that safety should never be compromised, whether someone is having a major body contouring procedure or a smaller operation,” she said. “Maintaining Quad A accreditation means our processes, equipment, and staff training continue to be independently verified against national benchmarks.”
Quad A is a non-profit accreditation organization endorsed by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Facilities that maintain accreditation must demonstrate ongoing compliance with standards that meet or exceed hospital requirements, including proper surgeon certification, trained anesthesia providers, appropriate equipment maintenance, and comprehensive emergency protocols, among others. The organization requires 100% proficiency with all standards annually to demonstrate continued compliance.
Dr. Kirby noted that maintaining accreditation involves continuous work beyond the certification. “We run ongoing quality and safety audits, keep strict infection-control protocols, regularly train and credential our clinical team, keep detailed maintenance logs for all equipment, and continuously review outcomes and patient feedback to drive improvements,” she said. “Patients appreciate our calm, spa-like environment, but may not realize the extensive system working behind the scenes to ensure their safety.”
City Surgery Center operates with board-certified MD and DO anesthesiologists, maintaining the highest credential level available for anesthesia care. “When I designed this facility, I wanted patients to have the privacy and convenience of an in-office suite with the same safety expectations they would find at a major hospital,” Dr. Kirby explained. “This accreditation verifies that we have achieved these high standards year after year.”
The accredited facility allows Dr. Kirby to offer a full range of aesthetic procedures on-site, including breast augmentation, breast lift, tummy tuck, liposuction, and mommy makeover, among others. All surgeries are conducted with customized anesthesia plans and Dr. Kirby’s Enhanced Recovery After Surgery protocol, a multimodal pain management system she developed over 14 years of practice to minimize reliance on narcotic pain medication and promote faster recovery.
City Surgery Center features private patient areas, individual lockers with phone charging stations, a recovery suite with dedicated registered nursing care, and a private exit that leads directly to reserved parking within the Shops at Clearfork. “My patients often tell me they appreciate not having to navigate a hospital setting for an outpatient procedure,” Dr. Kirby said.

Board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Kirby completed medical school at Texas A&M College of Medicine, followed by a six-year integrated plastic surgery residency at The University of Kentucky. She pursued further training with a fellowship in pediatric and craniofacial plastic surgery in Utah, and served as the first female Chief of Plastic Surgery at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital, the largest hospital in Fort Worth.
